Justified by Faith

A person is justified by faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by the works of the law.

Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ, warm wishes and greetings in the mighty and matchless name of Lord Jesus Christ!

Before going any further in understanding the above subject verse (Galatians 2:16); letus ask ourselves.

  • Are you justified?
  • Are you declared righteous in the sight of God?
  • Even more could you be justified without God?

There is none in the world who can justify himself to be righteous. The whole mankind can never uplift itself and become holy. Here Apostle Paul clearly says that a person is not justified by the works of the law. According to the Bible (Romans 3:19:20), no one will be declared righteous by the works of the law:

19. Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

20. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

Romans 3:19-20

In the first place, the scripture says that Abraham believed in God and therefore righteousness was credited to him. In like manner, God gave His Son and provisioned the righteousness to all who believe in His Son.

What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Romans 4:3

Faith in Jesus

Very truly, our Lord Jesus Christ came in to this world as a Sacrificial Lamb so as to make us righteous in the sight of God. Yes, the omnipotent God looks not at our sins or transgression but the righteousness which we received from Jesus. God provisioned the humanity with the blood of His only begotten Son to wash and cleanse all of our sins. Those who come to Jesus in faith are justified and ultimately have the eternal life in Him.

Amen.
