Time of God’s Favor

Now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2 NIV

Blessed be the name of our Lord and God the most high !

Greetings and warm wishes to you my beloved brothers and sisters. The subject verse which apostle Paul quoted was from the Book of Isaiah (verse 49:8) concerning the Messiah. From the context of the original verse (Isaiah 49:8), it is clear that God the Holy Father will favor the Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ. And also God will hear and answer the Lord’s prayers. Moreover, the Holy Father would make an eternal covenant with his people through Lord Jesus Christ. And all this will on the appointed day and at the accepted time.

The Accepted Time

Now coming to what apostle Paul says is this; the Messiah has come and the time what prophet Isaiah referred to has arrived. For every preacher of the good news i.e, the gospel, time is a big constraint. The gospel is meant to be preached in terms of now and not to be delayed for another day. For nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. No person can say that they will live tomorrow to either hear the good news or preach the good news. Certainly, the gospel is a word of grace that is not to be delayed, for it is a matter of salvation.

The day gospel is preached, is the day of salvation and the respective time is the best time to accept God. The very time you are reading this, is the time of salvation for many or may be to you also. As the following verse says, faithfully seek God when he is available to hear you.

‘Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; … ‘

Psalms 32:6

Therefore brethren, now is the time of God’s favor and the day of salvation. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior for he alone is the way, the truth and the life. Amen.
