As the Father Carries

The Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son.

and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”

Deuteronomy 1:31 NIV

All the honor and majesty be to God the Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name.

Beloved brothers and sisters, greetings and love in our Lord’s beautiful name. Let us glorify the everlasting Father, for his unconditional love. The immeasurable love of God; which has no bounds. Yes, the love which did not spare his own Son to rescue the mankind. The context of the subject verse revolves around the Israelites who were on their way to the promised land. I believe, the things pertaining to the verse could also be related to our own lives.

The Bible says that the Almighty God heard the cries of the Israelites and delivered them from the Egyptians. All throughout their journey from they saw the miracles of the Omnipotent God. Further, they saw the God Almighty manifesting himself in the pillar of cloud and fire. The parting of the Red Sea, the quails from the wind and the manna from heaven and the defeat of their enemies and many were the wonders that the Almighty God did. But the Israelites murmured and rebelled against the God. Even then God showed his great mercy upon them. He carried them as a loving father carries his son.

Jesus as our Everlasting Father

Dear brethren, we too may be going through our own wilderness. Like the Israelites, are we also rebelling against God, forgetting the miracles that He did in our lives? Beloved, do look at your past and the times you were delivered from your troubles. Maybe, you might not have acknowledged His presence in your success or deliverance. But it was the Lord who carried you in your storms. Moreover, His presence is with all of us even now. Just like a loving father covering his son from the adversities. Do you know that Jesus is also called the Everlasting Father? From the below verse from the Book of Isaiah, Jesus is called the Everlasting Father also.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 NIV

Beloved children of God, it is important that we neither get deviated from the path of God nor loose our sight. As apostle Peter drowned when he set his sight on the waters instead of looking at the Lord; we too could get into those kind of bad situations. Therefore, we are to always set our sight upon the Lord who stands as loving Everlasting Father to carry us through.

Stay blessed in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
