For the sake of Christ

Sake of Christ.

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10 ESV.

Praises and honor to the matchless name of Lord Jesus Christ.

Living for Christ is the ultimate goal of every child of God. It is not anything that one can decide and forget in a flash. The Bible says that the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few (Matthew 7:14). Yes to lead a life for Christ is no bed of roses. Even it is very straight forward in verse 2 Timothy 3:2; That all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

By our own strength and ability, it will be difficult even to go a few steps in Christ. But He blesses us with His strength and endurance when we lean on Him. Furthermore, He will never leave us to our fate, but rescues us from all the persecutions and sufferings like how He rescued Paul (2 Timothy 3:11).

You may say that the persecution of Christians are things of past and are not relevant now. Dear brothers and sisters, the world today is full of spiritual gurus, cult leaders, atheistic scholars, etc. who have a different way of understanding God and life. Those righteous ones in Christ are always targeted for their faith and belief. And you may never know of those concealed attacks. Also it does not have to be people from other communities or belief systems to mock you, but can be from your own. Yes, there are lot more who are like Sadducees and Pharisees around us.

So insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities are always present. Remember, blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake and you are made strong when you are weak. Finally, take heart for the faith in Lord Jesus gets us going. Amen.
