My sheep listen to my voice
My sheep listen to my voice.
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, warm welcome and greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus!
The subject verse (John 10:27) contains the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here, Jesus is talking about His sheep. And undoubtedly Jesus is talking about us for we are His sheep. With that He also is making another point. That He is our Shepherd, just as it is said many a times in the Bible. Not just Shepherd, but the Good Shepherd. His sheep listens to His voice and follow Him. From this verse, one thing is clear that His sheep rightly recognizes His voice.
The voice of the Shepherd is not strange to the sheep. And they naturally follow the Good Shepherd wherever He goes. Accordingly, His sheep does not heed to a stranger’s voice. In fact, any voice other than the Good Shepherd cannot be trusted. Neither do they follow any stranger. From the following verses, it is clear that Jesus knows each and everyone of us. Moreover, as the below verse says, He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out.
I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me
John 10:14 NIV
3. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. ‘
John 10:3-4
Finally beloved. it is time for the fact check. Where are we now? Whom are we following? Are we still in our Lord’s care? If not, my beloved please turn to Jesus Christ and shout for His help. Yes, He still loves you. He is eager to have you back. Therefore, repent and fully submit and surrender to Him. Be transformed for the glory of the Living God in Jesus matchless name. Amen.
