God first loved us
He first loved us.
We love because he first loved us.
Greetings in the loving name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Love is the greatest of all the attributes one can possess. It is very clear from the Bible verse which says, “… faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13 ESV)“. But why only love? Well, we can see why love is that great if we go to the verses at the start of 1 Corinthians 13. The following verses from 4 to 8 clearly explains why.
Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful. Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away, tongues will cease and knowledge will pass away.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
Isn’t it quite evident from the above verses what is love and why is love the greatest of all the attributes. Dear brethren, the first and foremost thing is that we never knew love till God showed us. Man experienced God’s love first and then could know what love is. Therefore, the Bible says, “We love because he first loved us.”
The fact that this world is still sane is because of love. Although the world is thick in its sin, He lets us to live and flourish because of His abundant riches of love. He asks us to love the God the most and also show others the same spotless love.
So brethren, let us speak of God’s love by living it and also lead others to Jesus Christ. Amen.
