Be Strong and Courageous
Be strong and courageous.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Loving greetings in the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ!
We all experience fear in our day-to-day lives. It usually occurs when we anticipate some form of danger. There is also another form of fear which is out of profound reverence especially to God.
The Psalmist says, “Even though I walk through he valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me”. The fearlessness and the confidence of King David are not anything to do with his inborn qualities or abilities. But it is about the presence of living God with him. No matter where he might be or what the circumstances be, he will not fear. For his confidence is in the almighty God, not in his own. Like how a child when he is in the arms of his father will not fear for any dog or danger; David too has has the same kind of confidence in God. He too looks at the problems from the eyes of the God. For the problems/fears are trivial when we are in the arms of the Almighty. So let us walk and live in the same way, how King David lived and put God first always.
Rather than fearing people or the situations, learn to fear God. The reverential awe of God is what we should have in our hearts and in our deeds. Our fear of God is out of reverence, admiration and veneration. Nothing less than that. Therefore do not fear the world but Him who has the power to create and destroy. Remember, be strong and courageous, for God has commanded us not to fear or be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord our God will be with us wherever we go (Joshua 1:9). Amen.
