I am not ashamed

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, the power of God to salvation.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, warm wishes and greetings in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord Jesus.

The subject verse (Romans 1:16) is from the Apostle Paul’s letter addressed to the believers in Rome. Though the letters of the Bible are addressed to some specific people across different regions; they are very much applicable to the people all over the world. For it is the written word of God and the truth to lead others to the Almighty. The Apostle speaks boldly of the work that is at hand. He is not ashamed of preaching the Gospel of Christ. Moreover, it is the will of the omnipotent God to bring the truth. The truth about His only begotten Son, not only to the Jews, but to the whole world.

Power of God

In all circumstances and persecution, Paul stood for the Gospel of Christ. Paul faithfully and boldly preached the Gospel which was revealed to him by Christ himself. Even in the face of stiff opposition and persecution, Paul continued to preach to all the people wherever he went. Most importantly, Paul recognised the fact that the Gospel of Christ is the power of God to salvation for everyone. The Gospel, quickens the sinful to the repentance. Also the dead in spirit are led to a new life when they turn to Jesus Christ. Yes, even the chiefest of the sinners are forgiven of their sins, when they fully turn to Jesus. The blood of Jesus Christ which He shed for one and all cleanses thoroughly and makes a new creation.

Now it is up to you and me to turn to Him. And repent, wash our sins and live a life in the Lord. By doing so, we are also doing a part of the will of the Heavenly Father. When we turn to God and repent, the whole Heaven rejoices over us. As the following below verse says, there is rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents.

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Luke 15:7 NIV

Finally brethren, let us not be ashamed of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Gospel. Let us also lead others to the truth in Jesus’ matchless name, all for the glory of the Living God. Amen.
