Generosity brings prosperity.
Generosity brings prosperity, but withholding from charity brings poverty.
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !
The subject verse highlights an important aspect of giving. And it is prosperity through charity. The word prosperity now-a-days has taken more of negative connotations. Neither am I promising you the wordly prosperities. God may surely bless us with wordly riches when we do charity. But it is not the wordly riches that we are interested in, but the riches of the heavenly realms.
Charity is done out of love. More so out of love for God first and the brotherly love for the people. Primarily we are to remind ourselves as the children of God. And the people are our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We honor and glorify the Almighty God when we help others. I believe that God equips us and places us at the right place and at the right time for His appointed work. And this is prosperity – to do God’s will. Further, withholding to do what is good and what is in our hands, leads us to poverty.
Brethren, let our aim be to earn the heavenly riches. For our destination is our Lord’s Holy Kingdom. Whether we have the worldly riches or not, it does not matter. For the Lord’s peace shall enable and lead us through our earthly journey.
Therefore, let us generously give to the needy for the glory of the Living God. In Jesus’precious name be every good work be done. Amen.
