Choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name!

The subject verse is a call to everyone to choose between life and death. Though the context of the verse is from the Old Testaments times, it is for us also. Here, Moses is calling upon the Israelites to decide their future. They are to make a choice that will indeed set their course. The choice between life and death, between blessings or curses. Naturally, nobody wants death or curses upon them. It is for everyone to choose life or blessings. But choosing life means choosing God. For the Almighty God is life.

God is our Creator and Sustainer. Indeed, those who choose Him and walk in His way shall have the life eternal. The Bible says to stay on the path that the Lord our God commanded to follow. There are many set paths in this world that promises us to wonderful destinations or even to Heaven according to their imaginations. Sadly, many walk the path of eternal death, i.e., hell. As the following verse says, those who follow God’s path shall have the blessings of long and prosperous life.

Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.

Deuteronomy 5:33 NLT

From the above, it is clear that God’s way is the only way to blessings and life eternal. Therefore, submit to the Lord our God in Jesus’ precious name and be blessed to the fullest. Amen.
