Lord’s Table
Nobody can partake in the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.
All the honor and majesty be to the Almighty God the Heavenly Father in Jesus Christ’s precious name !
The blatant truth from the subject verse is for all those superficial and uncommitted people of this world. Yes, this is for all who claim to know God, but whose ways are in contradiction with the Lord. Certainly, the verse does not talk about anyone’s physical ability to do what is said. But envisage a state of complicated life with two minds that are completely opposite and always at war with each other. As the following verse says, the longings of the flesh and the Spirit are always in conflict.
For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Galatians 5:17 NIV
Examine ourselves
Naturally, it would be impossible to serve the Lord while doing all the evil and wicked things either in open or in the secret. The world does so many things in the garb of commonality or goodness. But little do they know that it is a sin or an abomination to God. For their minds are blinded by the devil who is ruling this world. Considering the holy communion which is partaking of the Lord’s table; the holy scriptures makes it very clear to examine ourselves. The holy communion is not meant to be taken in an unworthy manner. Unquestionably, it is not for those who eat from the table of evil and wickedness.
Brethren, the devil passes every godly thing as trivial or insignificant. It is for us to constantly examine our leanings. More so, we can do it by heeding to the voice of the Holy Spirit and allowing him to rule over us. Eventually, the Holy Spirit strengthens our relationship with the Lord our God. Thereby changing us into His likeness and we shall always partake in the Lord’s table in the most worthy way. In Jesus’ matchless and mighty name all the glory be to the Living God. Amen.
