All the glory, praises and honor be to the Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name!

Through the subject verse, the Psalmist King David brings before us the heart of the Almighty God. As the verse says, David did not cover his sins, but bare them to the Lord. He acknowledged his sins and confessed his transgressions to the Lord. The scriptures also point out to David’s share of unrepentant times. Because of which he had to bear the repercussions. As the following below verse says, David cried to the Lord to be gracious and heal the unbearable pain (Psalms 6:2).

‘He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.’

Proverbs 28:13 NKJV

God is faithful and just

From the above verse, it is apparent that those who cover their sins will not prosper. And it is also plain that God is merciful and David very much knew this truth. Therefore, he acknowledged his sin to the Living God who is rich in mercy and forgives those who confess and repent. As the following verse says, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins when we confess them.

‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ‘

I John 1:9 NKJV

Therefore, let us confess our sins and submit to the Lord Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us. And He alone can cleanse us from our sins, transgressions, abominations, iniquities. He shed His holy blood on the Calvary Cross for the whole humanity. And those who repent and accept Him as their Lord and Savior are cleansed and made righteous in the sight of the Almighty God.

So, if you are yet to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, there is no time better than now. Wash yourselves in His shed blood and be saved. For Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life. Amen.
