Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit
Praises, honor and glory be to the Holy Father in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, peace and joy be to you and to your loved ones! The subject verse from the Epistle to the Ephesians, speaks what is rather important for a Christian living. Rather than debating whether a Christian can have a beer or glass of wine, my point here to do something to satisfy the spiritual needs of our body rather than the physical needs. It is very easy to indulge in the carnal things and go with the worldly flow. In this fast paced modern world, there are people who think it is natural to drink to whet one’s appetite. As the apostle Paul says, it is for us to fuel our spiritual needs rather than drinking which only leads to debauchery.
Brethren, as the children of God what we need is to have an intimate relationship with our Lord. Our longing and love for the Lord is evident from the working of Lord the Holy Spirit in us. Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit, certainly have an intimate relationship with God. As the Bible says, our bodies are temples of Lord the Holy Spirit:
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV
The Holy Spirit guides our lives in the righteousness of our Lord. Moreover, He is our Advocate and Comforter, who intercedes for us in our prayers. Therefore beloved, be filled with Lord the Holy Spirit and glorify the Lord by doing the Heavenly Father’s will. Amen.
