Cheerful Giver
God loves a cheerful giver.
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Blessed be the name of the Almighty God in Jesus Christ’s matchless and mighty name !
The subject verse is from the second epistle of Paul to the Corinthians. The subject of giving is much debated in all the circles of humanity. Even more, some people claim this as their main reason for their aversion to church. What ever be the reason, money has always been the bone of contention in every religion of the world. But as the beloved children of the Omnipotent God, we are to follow the Holy Scriptures for our life applications.
As a giver, we are to follow our heart and give cheerfully. It is never meant to be a hasty or influenced decision, but something which comes genuinely from our hearts. Very importantly, it should be noted that the initial promptings of the heart are more generous than the delayed decisions. Truly, the more we delay in our hearts, the chances of giving the best and worthy to God is lost. For we tend to get distracted or may compare with others only to see the lost generosity.
Generous Heart
The scripture asks us not to give under compulsion. Neither God seeks anything from a reluctant heart. Very importantly, we are to realize that all our possessions are the Lord’s. When we are giving to God, we are only giving a fraction of what He has given. Also, God does not depend on you or me for His work. But we are given a chance to work for His Kingdom. If we do not submit to His will, then He will raise help from others. Out of His Heavenly abundance, He gives generously to all His children. Moreover, those who sow seed with a generous heart shall reap in abundance; for God loves a generous giver.
Therefore, let us heed to the initial promptings of the heart and give generously for the glory of the Living God. In Jesus’ matchless name. Amen.
