The fear of God.
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
Dear beloved in Jesus Christ, greetings to you in His mighty name.
Fear God. These two words are not just like any other words that we come across in our daily lives. Rather they convey a lot of meaning to us. Above all, this short sentence can be regarded as life giving. Whether you believe it or not, it is the primary thing that God requires of us. Moses conveyed the same message to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 10:12. That the Lord our God require of us to fear Him and walk in all His ways. Moreover, love and serve the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul.
Most importantly, the fear of the Lord does not end with us. But be explicitly taught to our sons and to our sons’ sons. Because it is not meant to be limited to ourselves, we have to pass on to the next generations also. Even more by keeping all His statutes and His commandments all the days of our life, we may actually be blessed with longer days (Deuteronomy 6:2).
The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalms 111:10). Yes, the wisdom to lead our lives in the will of the Almighty. Doing the will of God is the whole duty of the mankind. Therefore brethren, fear God and obey His commands all throughout of our lives, for it is our primary duty for the glory of the living God. Amen.
