Greetings in the precious and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The Bible according to the verse in Ephesians 4:2, asks us to live life in a manner similar to Lord Jesus. Especially the above verse talks about five traits that we all should possess as the children of God. Most importantly these are the ones which bear from the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. As the scripture says in Galatians 5:22-23:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Humbleness

The first and the foremost trait that is discussed in the verse is humbleness (or meekness). A person acting humbly cannot sustain it for long. Humility is one such thing that comes from within. And we need to cultivate it and live it for the glory of the living God. Our Lord Jesus, humbly came down into this earth He created. And He chose to take birth in a manger rather than a palace or fort. Even though He is God, He lived with utmost humility. He showed us the way to live. As the bible says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you (1 Peter 5:6)“.

Gentleness

The quality of being kind, mild-mannered, tender-hearted shows our gentleness in life. It is how our Lord Jesus lived all throughout his lifetime. Likewise, the almighty God wants us to live and also be an example for our fellow men. As said in the Bible, “Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near (Phil. 4:5)“.

Patience / Forbearance

Patience is one such attribute which readily shows our love and our understanding towards God and men. As the scripture says, “Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly (Prov. 14:29)“. Remember my brethren, our God is patient with all of us. Likewise, let us also be patient in our dealings and also wait for the living God.

Love

The most highly regarded aspect in the Bible is love. Most importantly it is written that God is Love. According to 1 John 4:8, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love”. So brethren, it is clear whoever does not love does not know God. Therefore, let us question – do we know God?

Finally, let us be humble and gentle with everybody. And let all the above said qualities be cultivated in our lives. Importantly, we cannot gain all of these by taking any self-help course. But only through our Lord Jesus by fully surrendering to Him in all things and seeking the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
