Righteousness of God

The righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !

The first chapter of the apostle Paul’s epistle to the Romans, declares that the gospel is the power of God. The gospel or good news is for everyone who believes in it. Truly, it reveals the righteousness of God. The gospel presents before us the Almighty’s plan of salvation through His begotten Son, Lord Jesus Christ. As the following verse says, the sinful man deserves death for the wages of sin is death.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23 KJV

The righteousness of God could be seen in His plan of salvation which He offered to us freely. Very importantly, His righteousness called for punishment, while His love called for redemption of mankind. God chose to give us the eternal life through His Son. Therefore, the Son of God came down into this world and took upon himself all our sins and died on the Cross. By His death, we received victory over the eternal death which is hell. The Holy Father raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places. Moreover, all the authority in heaven and on the earth was given to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Righteous shall by faith

Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11 ESV

God by his righteousness gave His Son for atonement of our sins. But this atonement of sins requires us to believe in Him who died for us and repent of our sins and subsequently wash ours sins in His blood. Scriptures shows us that the Almighty God counted Abraham’s faith as righteousness. Similarly, we have our salvation by faith in Lord Jesus alone. Therefore, we now have Jesus’ righteousness imputed to us and we shall live our lives by the same.

Truly, the righteous shall live by faith in Jesus alone. For He is the way, the truth and the life. Amen.
