Your throne shall be established forever.
And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.’”
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name!
The subject verse is part of the Lord’s covenant with king David. The Lord our God gave the said message (as in the verse) through Prophet Nathan. Specifically, it was given when David thought and conveyed his plan of building a temple for God. But the Almighty God declared that He shall make a house for David and not David for Him. Moreover, what God establishes shall be forever. And so, this promise of establishment of God’s promise is seen in the David’s seed.
Many of the scholars believe that the above promises are related to Lord Jesus Christ. While the fulfillment of the promises in David’s seed is temporal while the fulfillment of the same in Lord Jesus is eternal. Truly, the subject verse seems more appropriate to Lord Jesus and the establishment of his house, eternal kingdom and his throne.
Therefore, bless the Lord forever and ever and seek the establishment of His Kingdom on the earth as it is in the heavens. Amen.
