“ Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord
“ Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord , “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name!
The subject verse brings before us the powerful words of the Omnipotent God. It is essential for us to understand the context in which the words were spoken. The context clearly speaks about those false prophets who speak lies in the name of the Almighty God. While it do recognize the true and righteous prophets of the Living God. The righteous ones hear what the God says and declare it verbatim to the people. While the false ones neither hear nor say the righteous words of God.
Do not fall for the false prophets
The Bible says that God’s words are like a consuming fire or a hammer that breaks rocks into pieces. While, for some it is food that gives strength to mind, body and soul. Just like a fire that consumes the chaff, His words consume the false prophets. Those who hear the false prophets shall receive what are false. They may declare false peace which may even be there for sometime, but the word of the Living God crushes the hardened hearts. Yes, His words maybe crushing, but for a true repentant heart it is the soothing joy of salvation. Brethren, let us check our hearts. Are we listening to the Almighty God or just pretending to be hearing His words? Those who pretend are nothing less than the false prophets. For they too speak what comes out of their hardened hearts.
Therefore, let us seek our Lord Jesus Christ to set our heart and soul right. So that we obediently do what He asks us to do and bring honor and glory to His name. In Jesus precious name alone, let everything be done. Amen.
