Give Honor to Marriage

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !

In Christianity, a marriage is God sanctified union between man and a woman. And the same can be seen in the Holy Bible, where the marriage is highly regarded in the sight of the Almighty God. From the beginning, God sanctified this union between man and woman to be one flesh. Moreover a man shall leave his father and mother and unite with his wife (Genesis 2:24). And this is the original law of marriage which was given to Adam and Eve. Most importantly, when the Pharisees asked Jesus about the application of divorce, He replied them not to split apart what what the Almighty God has joined together. Meaning that it ought not to be dissolved by anybody, even the couples themselves or any others.

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Matthew 19:6 NIV

Honor God by being faithful

Apostle Paul, in the above verse strengthens what is said in the subject verse. We honor God when we honor our marriage and remain truthful to our spouse. It is as simple as that. Being faithful to our life partner brings honor and glory to the Living God who sanctified the marriage. Moreover, God shall judge the adulterer and all the sexual immorality. Therefore, the one who breaks the marriage is also breaking God’s original law of marriage. And the laws that God gave allowed divorce on exceptional cases like when the other partner is unfaithful.

‘And I tell you this, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery—unless his wife has been unfaithful.

Matthew 19:9 NLT

Certainly, the institution of marriage is indissoluble except on the strongest grounds as stated in the above verse. Moreover, the Almighty God knows our every thought and actions. The liar or adulterer may fool the people of this world. But not the Living God. As the above verse says, the one who divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery.

Therefore brethren, let us be true to our spouse and be true to the Almighty God. Lead a blessed married life depending upon the Lord who sanctified the marriage. In Jesus’ matchless and mighty name. Amen.
