All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ loving and precious name !

The subject verse from the Book of Acts breaks the wrong notion that is set in the minds of people. People do believe in the existence of God, but His presence and proximity seems either unknown or afar. The people addressed in the context of the verse are the ancient Athenians. Perhaps the same notion exists in the minds of the modern world. The religiosity of the people of Athens is evident from all the idols, structures that were present in the city. But their distant relationship with the unknown God is clear from their inscriptions (see verse 23).

The God of all creation

The apostle Paul proclaimed that the Omnipotent God who created all things in heaven and earth does not depend on man for anything. He does not dwell in man-made temples. He is the Lord of all creation and giver of life and breath. Most importantly, he created nations throughout the whole world from one man. And He set times for their rise and fall. Also the boundaries of the nations were determined by Him. Moreover, He showed his love, grace and mercy to all the nations that they might earnestly seek and move towards him and ultimately find him.

Beloved, it is sad to say that people are blind to the truth and are very wrong in their assumptions in respect of their nations. Rather than seeking the Creator, men are turning to their created things for sanctuary. Man’s search for God is limited to idols, animals, plants or other man-made creations. Unless we set our sight on Lord Jesus, we can never know the Almighty God. As the following verse says, no one has ever seen God, but only the Son. And whosoever, comes to the Son shall have the Father also.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

John 1:18 NLT

Therefore brethren, we as a nation shall seek Jesus, the Son of God for He is the only way, the truth and the life. Over all, He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Amen.
