Lord will Establish

The Lord will establish you as a holy people.

The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !

It is clear that the context here refers to God’s chosen people — the Israelites. God had set them apart by the covenant that He made to Abraham. But by the subject verse He reaffirms the same. Emphatically, this verse applies to all of us who gave their hearts to Jesus Christ, the begotten Son of God. Moreover, we are made heirs of God’s glory through Jesus our Lord. Yes, the following verses reveals us how God did that by adopting us as his own children.

‘So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.’

Romans 8:15-17

Indeed the Lord shall establish us as His holy people. Just like the Israelites, we are separated to be His own through Jesus our Lord. Since, we come to the Holy Father through Jesus, we shall also keep His commandments. And Jesus has made it clear from the following verse.

If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

John 14:15 NASB

The Bible gives us many commandments of Jesus. And the greatest commandment of all which Jesus gave while replying to a teacher of law is the following:

‘Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord . And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.”’

Mark 12:29-31

From the above, it is very clear that the Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And we shall love Him with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind and all our strength. Furthermore, we are to love our neighbor as our-self. Therefore brethren, as the children of God let us walk in the way of our Lord and Savior. We shall glorify Him with both in our words and in our deeds by keeping His commandments.

In Jesus precious name. Amen.
