You Alone are the Lord

You alone are the Lord.

You alone are the Lord ; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name!

The subject chapter from the Book of Nehemiah brings before us the people of Israel confessing their sins. They assembled with fasting before the Almighty God. They read the Book of Law for one-fourth of the day and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God (verse 3). From this act, we could understand how the people came together as congregation and publicly confessed their sins. For they believed that they can never live to see the Omnipotent God’s wrath. But the Living God is also great and rich in showing His abundant grace and mercy to the repentant people. Therefore, He alone is to be praised and exalted.

The Lord preserves

As the subject verse says, He alone is the Lord our God. He is the Creator of all the Heavens and the Earth. The verse makes it plain that the Creator himself is the one who preserves all His creation. Indeed, the heaven and the highest heavens belongs to the LORD our God and so is the earth and all its host.

‘Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord , preserve both people and animals.

Psalms 36:6 NIV

From all the above, it is understood that the Omnipotent God alone is worthy of all the praise and worship by the host of heavens and the earth. As the above verse says, the righteous God preserves both the people and the animals. And we all have a purpose to live and it is to do the will of the Heavenly Father. By doing the will of the Holy Father, we shall always glorify His mighty name. And it shall all be done in the one and only name of Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
