Wealth by Labor
He who gathers wealth by labor will increase.
Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labor will increase.
Blessed and beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, greetings and warm wishes in Jesus’ precious name!
The righteous part of the subject verse (Proverbs 13:11) resonates well with the christian way of living. A true follower or disciple of Christ shall neither go after the riches nor make wealth in a dishonest way. The Bible clearly says that the dishonest money surely dwindles away. And those who labor and gather little by little shall enjoy their wealth.
Certainly, all those who fear God and hate dishonesty in any form are greatly blessed by the Lord. Even in the meagerness, they are content and blessed. For the joy and happiness are not in the wealth of the world, but in the presence of the Lord. For God is our joy and peace even in all of our inadequacy. As the following verse says, God blesses those who can be trusted even with very little.
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Luke 16:10 NIV
Therefore brethren, we on our part are to abide in our Lord Jesus, who is our way, the truth and the life. If we are not seeking Jesus, then certainly we are inviting the adversary into our life. The satan is quick enough to fill in the emptiness of our hearts. Unrighteousness and dishonesty are deeply rooted in the wicked and the evil ones.
For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.
Deuteronomy 25:16 NIV
Beloved, as the above Scripture says, God detests the dishonest. And the wicked also hate the upright. Therefore, let us not be dishonest in our way of living and more importantly in earning. Ensure, that we labor righteously in the sight of God. For in Jesus alone are the riches that never withers or fades. Amen.
