Don’t be afraid
Don’t be afraid of evil people!
You people who understand goodness should listen to me. You people who follow my teachings should hear the things I say. Don’t be afraid of evil people. Don’t let their insults upset you.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, a warm welcome in Jesus’ matchless name!
The subject verse Isaiah 51:7 is a typically for those people who already knew God. Also they understand His goodness or righteousness and even more follow His teachings and the laws. Those who really know the Lord and have the right understanding, will always exercise kindness, justice and righteousness in all their dealings like Him. The below verse reflects this understanding.
but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord , who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 9:24
Do not be afraid
Looking further at our subject verse, it is imperative that we need not be afraid of any evil person. Yes, those who are truly righteous in God will never have to worry about any evil thing or evil person. For they will have the true confidence in God. Not the confidence about themselves or about their abilities. It is confidence in the God that He will rescue them from any kind of evil or wicked people or problem. Furthermore, our God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The Scripture below clearly says so:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
In like manner, we need not be upset over the insults that are thrown at us. Our Lord Jesus, being God, chose to humble Himself in this world. He was subjected to flogging, mockery, insults, injury and even death. Till the very last breath on the cross, He forgave those very people who tortured and crucified Him. Even more, He asked the Heavenly Father to forgive His abusers. The Love of God for mankind sans bounds. Whatmore do we ask of Him who gave Himself as a Sacrificial Lamb for our atonement. Take heart brethren, you are blessed if you are persecuted because of righteousness. As Jesus said according to the Scripture below:
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:10
Finally, let us move ahead in Christ, without looking back at those persecutions, insults, hurdles, problems, etc. Our living God is with us. Our God sustains us mightily for we seek His grace and mercy in the name of Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
