United with the Lord

Whoever is united with the Lord …

But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:17 NIV

But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17 NIV https://1corinthians.bible/1-corinthians-6-17

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus precious name !

The subject verse brings before us the truth about our unity with God. And if we closely look at the verse, it starts with “but”. Indicating that the verse is in continuation with the previous one (16th verse given below). If a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her. Whereas, if the man gets joined to the Lord, then he is one spirit with the Lord. Moreover, when we join carnally with others, we seek to destroy our bodies as well as our souls. The Bible says, letting our bodies to rule over us, shall only lead to sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery (Gal 5:19).

16 And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.” 17 But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.’

1 Corinthians 6:16-17 NLT

Consecrated body

The Bible says that the mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Holy Spirit is life and peace (Rom 8:6). Indeed, the minds governed by flesh are heading towards the eternal death. But those who have given their hearts to Jesus Christ are governed by His Holy Spirit who is life and peace. Moreover are bodies are not only consecrated by our unity with the Lord; but also becomes one spirit in Him.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Romans 8:6 NIV

Therefore brethren, please make a choice if you have not yet made in respect of the above said union. Are we joined to the carnal ways or the way of life and peace of the Almighty God? Is it the flesh ruling us or the Holy Spirit of God ? Judge yourself and take the appropriate action to posses the eternal life with God. The righteous path is the path of Jesus Christ. For He alone can give the eternal life with God.

Amen.
