Praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus Christ’s matchless name !

The Holy Scriptures gives us laws to follow. Theologian Thomas Aquinas explained that there are three types of biblical laws — moral, ceremonial, and judicial. And the most important and widely known are the moral laws called the Ten Commandments (Deuteronomy 5:6-21 NLT) which God gave to the Israelites. Very interestingly, these Commandments are the foundation of the moral code and legal system of justice to many countries.

Cursed — who does not obey all the commands

Coming to the subject verse, it clearly states that the law is the knowledge of sin. These laws were given because of man’s sins and transgressions. Truly, these laws show us how sinful we are in the sight of the Almighty God. Most importantly, by the deeds of the law no one will be justified in the sight of God. The scriptures says that those who does them shall live by them. Though it does not mean that keeping laws is not the perfect way to be justified, but it requires one to keep all the laws. And no one can ever possibly keep all these laws and it only worsens our justification. The following below verse makes it plain that we cannot be made right with God without obeying all the commands.

But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”

Galatians 3:10 NLT

Through faith in Jesus Christ

As we have seen, it is very difficult on our part to keep all the laws of the Living God. And those who keep their confidence on keeping the laws and fail are cursed according to the above verse. But now, God has shown us a way to be made right with Him without keeping the requirements of the laws. Emphatically, it is through His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. We are made right in the sight of God when we place our faith in Jesus. Furthermore, we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ.

Finally, all the glory be to the Living God for making us right through His Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
