No Poisonous Root
Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you.
Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.
All the praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus Christ’s precious and matchless name !
The chapter in respect of the subject verse calls us to persevere in our race of life. As Jesus endured the suffering and shame of the cross, we are to endure our race of life by looking at him. Our goal to finish the race shall depend upon whom we put our faith on. We shall look diligently upon our Savior, so that we do not fall prey to the temptations of this world. Ultimately, it is the grace of the Lord that we loose when we set our hearts upon the worldly lusts.
Salvation through Christ
As the subject verse says, we should not fail to receive the salvation of the Lord. Though, Jesus secured the salvation for the whole humanity, it is up to each individual to accept the free gift of salvation that God has provided. Moreover, those who secure the free gift of salvation shall be watchful and see that there is no root of bitterness protruding in their lives. Certainly, when we turn away from God, we bear bitter or poisonous fruit. Which could be the primary reason for corruption and also a reason for many others to go astray from the Lord.
Brethren, it shall be our serious endeavor to lead righteous and holy lives. And we could do it by relying upon our Lord and Savior alone. Therefore, let us fully submit to our Lord Jesus and persevere in his strength for the glory of the Living God. Amen.
