The Lamp of the body

The lamp of the body is the eye.

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.

Glory, praises and honor to the Everlasting Father in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Greetings beloved brethren, hope you are doing great in the Lord. The subject verses are revealed to us by the Lord himself. Truly, our eyes receive the light and therefore we see and perceive things. But it is important for us know how our spiritual eyes differentiate us from good and bad. And when our spiritual eyes are good and clear, we rightly judge what is right from the evil. On the contrary, if our eyes are bad, naturally darkness is preferred over the light. For the light hurts those who are used to darkness. Those who set their hearts and eyes upon Lord Jesus Christ, shall have their souls filled with the divine light. Furthermore, the Bible says that Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

‘When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” ‘

John 8:12

Ascertain the Light

From all the above, it is evident that the darkness or lack of any light in ones life indicates the absence of the Almighty God. The people who are getting drowned in the sinful life and unrepentance, naturally loose whatever light that is there in them. Slowly their dim light turns into complete darkness. And the path they take shall be uncertain and dangerous. While those who are lit by the light emanating from the Lord shall walk in confidence and in the paths of righteousness. Therefore brethren, let us gauge the light that is in us. Ascertain whether it is the bright light of the Lord or the dim light or no light at all. Anything other than the bright and soft light of the Lord indicates ungodly life.

Brethren, repent if it is the darkness that is prevailing in our lives. Wash all the sins, transgressions, abominations, iniquities in the precious blood of Lord Jesus Christ. And let the light of the Lord shine in our lives. Moreover, never cease to pray and seek the Lord of his help to stay in his light.

In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
