Whoever Publicly Acknowledges Me
Whoever publicly acknowledges me before others …
“I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Heavenly Father in Jesus’ mighty name !
The subject verse from the Gospel of Luke is very important for identifying ourselves among the people. This is either confessing or denying Jesus Christ before the men of this world. Explicitly, this is our stand in Christ which has the effect on our eternity. Moreover, this is not something limited to our heart, but a public disclosure of our love and allegiance to the Son of God.
Even though one may live a hidden life in Christ, but that would not hold for long. A case of starter from another faith to accept Christ may be difficult initially. But the time shall come wherein he has to decide and make his allegiance public. And this shall surely happen, as the Holy Spirit of God leads that person. Yes, every true believer in Christ shall be emboldened to make his love for the Lord known to public.
When He returns in His glory
Most importantly, this is Jesus himself giving the subject message to us. One shall bear consequences of our earthly choice in acceptance or refusal of Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord’s refusal to accept us in front of His angels is the stern message of the subject verse. And when Jesus returns in His glory, these things shall come to pass. Also the following verse stated in Jesus’ own words reaffirms the subject verse or vice-versa.
If anyone is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.Luke 9:26 NLT
Therefore brethren, let our choice be first clear to us and then to the public. For the Almighty God already knows our choice. Yes, let us uphold our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and make our love and allegiance to Him known to the people. Above all, let us do it all for the glory of the Living God in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
