Poor in Spirit.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ, greetings and warm wishes in the matchless name of Lord Jesus!
The above said verse (Matthew 5:3 NIV) is from what is known as Jesus’ sermon on the mount. Also popularly called The Beatitudes. The said verse is also little confusing for what God meant to be Poor in Spirit. Although some claim it as to be financially poor, but clearly the scripture says “poor in spirit”. I personally believe no man can become outright rich in spirit. Moreover, everybody would start as poor in spirit. It is the living God who strengthens and enables us to become rich in spirit. We by our own abilities or talents can never pull ourselves to God, but only by the power of God we are lifted. We are all helpless without God in our lives. Only when we seek and allow God to work in our lives, we become His children.
The kingdom of Heaven will certainly become ours when we understand our helplessness and allow God to take control of our lives. He helps us to become rich in spirit and live life according to the will of the Heavenly Father through faith in Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, by the name of our Lord Jesus alone. Amen.
