Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, hearty greetings and warm wishes in the precious name of our Lord Jesus!

The subject verse (Philippians 2:5) is part of those wonderful instructions that propels us to live in the way of the Lord. It is no wonder that the Bible asks us to imitate Christ, our Lord Jesus. This verse is from the set of instructions to imitate Christ’s humility. As Apostle Paul says, in the following below verses, let us be like-minded by being one in spirit and of one mind.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Philippians 2:2-4

Truly, as the above verse says, let us leave every kind of pride and arrogance. Rather humble ourselves in the sight of the living God and propagate love. Moreover, as we all are the body of Christ, let us be one in spirit and mind. As the life of our Lord teaches us, let us not be selfish. But keep interests of our fellow brothers and sisters high.

The Scriptures say that our Lord has demonstrated to all of us His unfailing and unselfish love. He kept our redemption as His goal. He fully submitted to the Heavenly Father and humbly came down into a family of Carpenter. He cried with those who cried and blessed those who heard Him and learnt the truth. Finally, He willingly submitted to the Cross and bore the brunt of torture, pain and ultimate death. All this for our sake. Therefore beloved, let us also do good for others and put their interests above ours for the glory of the living God in Jesus’ matchless name. Amen.
