Fear of the Lord
Strong confidence in the fear of the Lord.
In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.
Dear brothers and sisters, greetings in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
The above verse (Proverbs 14:26) is nothing but the truth to know and apply in our lives. The true fear of the Almighty comes out of reverence and praise for who He is. Most importantly, the Lord our God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Neither the great heights of the mountains nor the depths of the seas can hide anybody or anything from Him. As the following verse says, those who fear and wait for His lovingkindness, earn His favours.
The Lord favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
Psalm 147:11 NASB
In essence, our God is love and just. We being His creation, rebelled and sinned against Him. Since, God is just, He can never leave us punished. But God is also love. Therefore, by virtue of His love, He took upon Himself the punishment which was meant for the whole mankind. Yes, Jesus died for one and all. He took upon Himself all of our sins and transgressions. Now it is upto us to accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.
Jesus is our confidence
Those who accept Jesus as their Lord, live in strong confidence. Since, they fear Lord out of love and reverence, they do not fear men. The fear of our Lord strengthens our character to live a righteous life. Furthermore, He will instruct us the way we should choose. Moreover, He will be the stability of our times. The following verses reveals us the same as said above;
Who, then, are those who fear the Lord ? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
Psalm 25:12 NIV
And He will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.
Isaiah 33:6 ESV
Finally beloved, by living a god-fearing life we have His strong confidence in us. Let us boldly proclaim the good news of Christ’s redemption to all. In Jesus’ matchless name be everything done. Amen.
