The Righteous Heart
The righteous heart ponders how to answer.
The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
Praises and honor be to the living God!
Warm wishes and greetings in the mighty and matchless name of Lord Jesus Christ!
The above subject verse (Proverbs 15:28) calls for a check on how we use our tongue, in other words how and what we say to others. From the verse it is very clear that a righteous heart produces clear and graceful words that are but truth. For the righteous ones, think before making any decision or before saying anything to others. Every word is necessarily put in a gracious manner and in the right tone. In the process, a righteous heart longs to glorify the living God by saying things what are true and good in the sight of God. As the Scripture says, let the words that come out from our mouth be good for edification of the hearers.
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Ephesians 4:29
As it is said the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. As Lord Jesus says in the verse below, what is there in one’s heart will proceed out of the mouth. Moreover, from what we speak we can know the state of our heart. So beloved, what is it that is coming more out of our mouths? Graceful words or the evil things?
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
Matthew 15:18
Jesus cleanses our hearts
Therefore beloved, let us fully introspect how we are in the heart. What is our talk made of? Are curses and praises going in tandem? If so, let us turn away from all things that are evil and fully submit to the Omnipotent God. Ask God to cleanse our hearts and be made righteous in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
