Worthy Are You

Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power.

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

All the glory, praises and honor be to the God, Most High !

The subject verse from the Book of Revelation brings before us God’s worthiness which commands glory and honor from all. From the context it is clear that the event is at the God’s mighty throne. Moreover, the words of the verse were spoken by the twenty-four elders who prostrated before the Omnipotent God. The twenty-four elders who are the members of the heavenly Sanhedrin have thrown down their crowns in order to worship the Almighty God seated on the throne. Furthermore, this reverent submission to exalt the Living God is not only done by these elders, but the whole host of the Heaven.

Jesus the Creator

As can be seen, the Almighty God is exalted for His divine work of creation. Yes, He created all things and by His will everything was brought into existence. The Bible says that by Jesus were all things created both in heaven and on earth. The following verse also declares that all things were created through Him and for Him.

‘For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. ‘

Colossians 1:16 ESV

The whole host of heaven is prostrated before the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent God. From the below verse we could see that the Almighty God is worshiped day and night without ceasing.

‘And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” ‘

Revelation 4:8 ESV

If the whole heavenly host prostrates and worship with such fear and reverence, should we not be doing the same. We the mere mortals, how are we in our prayers and worships? Are we that passionate in our worships? Do we fear God and pay such reverence?

Brethren, let us also fearfully and reverently approach God to glorify His mighty name. Be thankful to Him for every thing big or small and in all situations or circumstances. In Jesus’ precious and matchless name be all done for the glory of the Living God. Amen.
