Great is the Lord
Great is the Lord
‘Great is the Lord , and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain. ‘
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name!
The subject verse, a psalm of King David glorifies and exalts the Almighty God. The Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipotent God is worthy of every praise and honor. The Bible tells us how David centered his life upon the Almighty God. Truly, he greatly glorified and praised the Almighty God at all the times — both in times of adversity and in happiness.
Earth is God’s footstool
Through this subject verse, David tells us about the city of the Almighty God on the holy mountain. It is clear that David is referring to the city of Jerusalem on top of the mountains. Moreover, the said holy mountain is where the Ark of God is established. This view of David is regarding the holy temple of God in the physical realms. However, the holy scriptures reveals to us that Heaven is God’s throne while the earth is His footstool. Literally, could anybody build a house for the Almighty God?
This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?
Isaiah 66:1 NIV
From all the above, it is clear that the Living God who created the heavens and the earth is great and worthy to receive all our praises and honor. Moreover, He is to be feared above all gods (Psalms 96:4). Therefore, let us continue to glorify the Almighty God in mighty and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
