Lie down in peace

I will both lie down in peace and sleep.

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord , make me dwell in safety.

All the praises and glory be to the Living God! Greetings to you beloved brothers and sisters in Christ!

The subject verse (Psalms 4:8), shows us how much the Psalmist depended on God. Also the true faith he had in the Almighty God is clearly visible by the way he lived. Yes, it is about having faith not according to man, but according to God. A truly faithful person will always have an intimate relationship with God. Certainly, it is the relationship with God that speaks about our faith. The true faith comes from the deep-down of the heart.

King David’s life reflects the unwavering faith he had for the Lord, our God. David could have the peace in the midst of all his trials and problems. Moreover, even when the King Saul was pursuing him to kill, he never let go off his faith. He trusted God the most. It is evident from the subject verse that David knew the omnipotent God’s power. He knew that only God can make him dwell in safety. Therefore his faith and trust in God is visible in all his actions. Moreover, he longed to dwell in the Lord’s tent and take refuge in the shelter of Lord’s wings.

I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

Psalm 61:4 NIV

Jesus our deliverer

Finally brethren, I believe everybody would gladly accept and testify about the awesome power of God. But when the hard times hit us, we run helter-skelter, rather than looking up to God. Moreover, we do not submit to our Lord and cast all our cares upon Him. But we rather try to sort out according to our level or thinking. We forget our Lord who is calling us to exchange our burdens with His peace. Brethren, let us not repeat what we have been doing so far. Turn to Jesus and cast your burdens upon Him. For the Lord gives you the rest. He lets you to lie down and sleep in His arms while he takes care of all our issues.

Therefore, faithfully submit to the Lord in righteousness. Let his plans unfold for your growth and life in the Lord. All the glory be to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Amen.
