I Will Fear No Evil

I will fear no evil, for You are with me.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23 NIV

Blessed brothers and sisters in Christ, greetings in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus!

The subject verse (Psalm 23:4) is a well known verse from the equally known chapter from the book of Psalms. This is a Psalm of King David. From the subject verse it is very evident that David was fearless in the midst of all his troubles and hardships. For David’s confidence is not in himself, but in the Almighty God. In God, he put all his faith and trust..

David, speaks about the rod and staff of the Shepherd in this verse. A shepherd who tends his sheep is always in possession of a rod and staff; likewise our Shepherd Jesus protects us with his rod and staff. King David vehemently acknowledged the divine protection of God and His Son, as referred in the following verse:

The Lord says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”

Psalm 110:1

Therefore brethren, let us also trust and put faith in the Living God. And only through the mighty and matchless name of His begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
