As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 NKJV

In the loving name of Lord Jesus Christ, I greet you my beloved brothers and sisters!

Would you be able to use a blunt knife or any cutting equipment which is not sharp? Truly we would not like to waste our time and energy on any unfruitful work. Moreover, the result produced with the blunt equipment could only be faulty or flawed. Therefore, it is very clear that we need to sharpen our iron equipment so as to be productive. To sharpen our device we need another piece of iron. Most importantly, we need a strong and durable iron which could sharpen the blunt device. A brittle and light iron would not solve any purpose. Rather it could be dangerous to the user. So, from all of the above, we could draw positives that we could apply in our lives.

Good relationship and willingness.

As it is written in Proverbs 27:17, “… a man sharpens the countenance of his friend“. Much alike a blunt iron, a blunt person is useless and unproductive. A blunt person could only endanger others if put on critical jobs. Therefore, there is a requirement of sharpening the blunt or dull person by another who is stable and sharp in his way of living. Especially, with the wisdom, understanding and knowledge of God. A person who lives a life in God’s righteousness and walks in His counsel will definitely sharpen those lacking. To sharpen a person means to make him capable and be complete in all ways. But to sharpen a person, first we need to be in good relationship and be willing to be changed.

Fear of the Lord.

Therefore bretheren, let us be very good in our relationships and be a positive impact on others. Let us be generous in giving the time and energy for leading others the Lord. Note worthily, allow yourselves to be sharpened when the need or the opportunity arises. As the Bible says according to Proverbs 9:10 :

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

In Jesus matchless and mighty name, be blessed and be light to others. Amen.
