Jesus, our sin-sacrifice, also suffered death.
And Jesus, our sin-sacrifice, also suffered death outside the city walls to make us holy by his own blood.
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !
The subject verse from the letter to the Hebrews talks about the sin-sacrifice. As per the Old Testament laws, it requires the blood of the animals be brought into the most holy place by the high priest of the tabernacle. Also, the bodies of the sacrificed animals for atonement of sins are burnt outside of the camp. However, this is not the case with other offerings, for the flesh of sacrificed animals were eaten by those offering the sacrifices. This shows the severity of sins in the sight of God. As it is clear that the animals offered are not eaten, but wholly burnt on fire.
Most importantly, Jesus’ sacrifice is for only one reason. That is to save the whole mankind from their own sins. Moreover, He died once for all, unlike the recurring sacrifices of sin of the Old Testament laws. Just like the sin-sacrificed animals, Jesus also suffered the cross and died outside the city gates. Furthermore as the scriptures says, let us also go outside the walls and bore all the shame and disgrace as our Lord. He bore all of this to make us holy and be worthy enough to enter His holy kingdom.
Brethren, the holy blood of our Lord Jesus paid it all for us. And now as we are His property, let our walk and talk be according to Him alone. Therefore praise and exalt the Living God who gave us his own Son as an atonement. In Jesus precious name. Amen.
