Pathway through the Wilderness

I will make a pathway through the wilderness.

“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !

The context of the subject verses constitutes a wonderful promise of God to the Israelites. And this is the promise of deliverance and restoration. If we could see few verses back, we could know that God is reminding the Israelites of the great and mighty works that He did for their fathers. Yes, how the Almighty God brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt. How He made dry path in the waters of the Red Sea and sank the Pharaoh’s army with their chariots and horses. Are not these mighty works of the Omnipotent God ?

All the above are the former things that God did for the Israelites with His mighty power. And what He is going to do now shall be greater than the previous ones. Therefore, God asks them to forget all those and look out for something new which He already begun. And this is the deliverance from the Babylonians and restoration to the land of Israel.

Deliverance and restoration

The Almighty God says that He will make a pathway through the wilderness. Although the way back to the land of Israel is not safe and easy. Yes, He will create a safe way through the wilderness. Moreover, just as He made a dry path in the Red Sea, He is able to create rivers in the midst of the desert lands. Similarly, the Almighty God can make any narrow or crooked path straight for the people who put their faith and trust in Him. Above all, He is able to cut off even the most dreadful enemies forever, just as He did with the Egyptians in the Red Sea.

Considering all the above, the Almighty God is able to deliver and restore every one of us. Most importantly, If we trust and put our faith in the Living God, we shall see what He has promised. Indeed, God delivers us from the worldly problems, but these are trivial compared to what He has done for us. As He redeemed the Israelites from the Babylonians, He has redeemed us from the eternal condemnation through His Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Emphatically it is true to say that God’s plan of redemption has given us victory over the eternal death.

Victory over eternal death

First thing to remember, this victory over eternal death is for everyone who believe and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Most importantly, He died for the whole humanity on the Calvary Cross. And it is equally important for us to know that our sins are washed in the shed blood of Christ. Jesus was buried and was raised on the third day by the Almighty God. Thereafter, He ascended to Heaven after being on the earth for forty days. And now He is sitting at the right hand of God, interceding for you and me.

Finally brethren, God’s plan of redemption in Christ Jesus is for all.

Come to the Lord and be saved. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
