Everlasting Light

The Lord will be your everlasting light.

The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

Isaiah 60:19 ESV

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name!

We have sun as the source of the brightest light for the whole earth. As the subject verse says we have the sunlight by day and the moonlight by night. These two are the principle sources of natural light that God provisioned us. Even these two sources shall give way to the greatest source ever. Yes, the sun and the moon shall no more be our source of light by day and night respectively. As the heavens are lit, we too shall receive the infinite illumination that comes only from the Omnipotent God. Truly, as the subject verse says, the Lord will be our everlasting light.

The Lamb of God is the lamp

As a believer of the Almighty God, we could surely envisage what is said in the subject verse. When the Lord takes His church, we shall receive the promised eternal gift. We shall be the citizens of His Holy Kingdom receiving His everlasting light. Moreover, He shall be our glory to the eternity. As the following verse says, the glory of God gives light and the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ is the lamp.

And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

Revelation 21:23 ESV

Brethren, let us therefore walk in the light that God has provided to all. By the way of Jesus we have the providence of God to walk in this world. For Jesus is the true light who gives light to all. Those who believe in Him shall walk in His light. Thereby, we shall have the eternal light in His eternal Holy Kingdom.

Submit to the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. And ultimately be blessed to the eternity in His mighty name. Amen.
