The great, the mighty, and awesome God, Who keeps covenant and mercy: Do not let all the trouble seem small before You That has come upon us Nehemiah 9:32

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, peace be with you in the mighty and matchless name of Lord Jesus Christ!

What a wonderful day to thank God for all His tender mercies and grace upon all of us. The fact we could see the light of the day is all because of His love for us. Truly, our God is great. He is awesome, great and mighty to the eternity. So blessed is the humanity, that the Heavenly Father did not spare His begotten Son for our sake. Yes, Lord Jesus is our priceless gift that we got from the Living God. The omnipotent, omniscient God and the righteous God made Himself available as the Sacrificial Lamb for our atonement of sins.

Everlasting covenant of God

Certainly, the context of the subject verse is about Nehemiah praying to God. Praying for the grace and mercy of the almighty over his countrymen and all the leaders or officers. Nehemiah rightly knows the state of his people and the vagaries of the rulers of his day. The sinful state of his people will only enlarge their misery and struggle. Nehemiah asks God not to consider the trouble that they were undergoing as too small or nothing. But whatever God does is just and righteous. Nehemiah rightly knows that God is compassionate and God’s covenant is everlasting. As the verses according to Genesis 17:7 and Jeremiah 32:40 says:

I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

Genesis 17:7

I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.

Jeremiah 32:40

Truly, God’s covenant is everlasting. He will never stop doing good to them who fear Him and stay in His presence. Very truly He is awesome. All the glory and praises be to the Living God. In Jesus’ matchless name. Amen.
