Praises and honor be to the Heavenly Father in the precious name of Lord Jesus Christ!

Beloved brothers and sisters, greetings and warm wishes to you and to your loved ones. What a wonderful God we have ? The Almighty Triune God, who immensely loves us and whose grace and mercies are afresh every morning. Blessed be His name to the eternity.

Dear brethren, the subject verse from the gospel of Luke makes an important statement for us to ever praise and thank our Lord. Indeed, those who put their trust in Jesus never lack anything. But only abundance, as evident from the twelve baskets of left-overs. There were about five thousand men among the whole congregation. Though the context of the verse is about how Jesus fed the people miraculously from just fives loaves and two fish; it is about the contentment of the people at the end. From the previous verses to the subject verse, it is clear that the people followed Jesus wherever he went. And those who sought him received what they wanted from him. He gave them the spiritual food and revealed to them the kingdom of God which is at hand. He healed the sick and the diseased. Also He broke all the curses of the people and delivered the demon possessed.

Eternal Satisfaction in Christ

From all the above it is evident, that Jesus Christ satisfies us abundantly in every way. But beloved, it is not physical contentment that we are to seek. But what is important in the sight of God. The whole purpose of Jesus coming down into this world is not for our material needs. But to deliver us from our own sins. The Heavenly Father gave us the most precious gift. That is Jesus himself. We are to love him and seek him the most. We are to acknowledge His unconditional love and glorify him in all things. Jesus came down and gave his whole body for us. Yes, His flesh is our bread and the blood that He shed on the cross is our wine. And our satisfaction and contentment is in Him alone who gives the eternal life.

Therefore brethren, let us give our undivided attention to our Lord and ask him to take full control of our lives. So that our walk confirms to his righteousness and obedience that He showed to the world. And finally, be satisfied to the eternity. All in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
