Do not be Unbelieving
Do not be unbelieving, but believing.
Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name!
The subject verse from the Gospel according to John is associated with an infamous title — “the doubting Thomas.” And we do not know the exact times or from whence Apostle Thomas was called like that. But children do address him as they are taught as such in the Sunday schools. Unfortunately, the world is full of doubting Thomas’. And I believe every Christian would have lived at least a moment as doubting Thomas. I am not accusing anybody here, but only reminding of that fragile state during the initial days submitting to the Lord.
The subject verse constitutes the very words of our Lord Jesus Christ. As the Lord says, we should not be unbelieving and be otherwise. We the Christians are called believers. And a true Christian can never be unbelieving. Our moments of crisis should not make us unbelieving in the Lord. Truly no circumstance or situation around us should vitiate our faith in the Lord. Our belief in the Lord in all circumstances shall be a true blessing for us. As the Lord says, “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
‘Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”’
John 20:29 NKJV
Brethren, let us continue to believe in the Lord in all situations and circumstances glorifying his mighty name. Let His mighty and matchless name be exalted at all the places and at all the times. Amen.
