Integrity and Uprightness
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.
All the glory, praises and honor be to the God Most High !
The subject verse from the book of Psalms mentions two (very important) attributes of God. They are very important for us who like to walk in the way of the Lord. It is not surprising that these attributes are found in every righteous child of God. It is clear that the psalmist banks on the fact that integrity and uprightness shall preserve his life. But the most important thing that the psalmist does is to wait on the Almighty God having the said qualities in him. Therefore, he is confident of God’s absolute protection. As the following verse says, those who walks with integrity walks securely by the divine protection of God.
He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known.
Proverbs 10:9 NKJV
Jesus our righteousness
Nobody could ever serve God without integrity and uprightness, for it shall only be hypocrisy on the part of that person. Truly, a dishonest person doing God’s work shall never achieve the purpose. Furthermore, It shall only be painful when a person pretends to wait on God without any righteousness. Righteousness according to the world does not make us perfect. For the righteousness of the world is superfluous. Our righteousness comes from the Lord Jesus Christ in whom we abide. The following verse from 1 Corinthians makes it plain that Jesus is more than righteousness for us.
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—
I Corinthians 1:30 NKJV
Therefore beloved, let our walk and talk be of integrity and uprightness in the sight of the Almighty God. Yes, let us live this in Jesus’ precious and matchless name. Amen.
