All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !

The Psalmist’s prayer to the Almighty God is revealed in the subject chapter. From the context, it is very clear that the Psalmist remembers God’s earlier actions upon His people and the land. He praises God for forgiving and covering all their sins. And the Psalmist now seeks the Living God the same forgiveness and covering of their sins. The Psalmist believes that the Almighty is merciful to those who humble themselves and repent of their sins. And without forgiveness first, God’s blessings shall seem afar. As the Psalmists says in the following verse, blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven and whose sin is covered.

‘Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.’

Psalms 32:1 NKJV

Do not hide but confess

The Omnipotent God is merciful and willing to forgive all who approach Him as the Psalmist did. The first thing that the Psalmist did was to acknowledge his sin to the Almighty God. As he quoted (Psalms 32:5), he did not hide his iniquity before the Lord. Besides, he confessed his transgressions to the Lord. As can be seen, the Living God forgave the iniquity of his sin.

Brethren, we actually do not know how many times the Almighty God has turned His anger away from us. But it is necessary for us to confess our sins and transgressions whenever the Holy Spirit of God convicts us (John 16:8). Yes, whenever we are prompted, we need to repent and wash our sins in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

‘And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: ‘

John 16:8 NKJV

Finally, let us acknowledge the unfailing love of the Most Merciful and Loving God. And let us continue to live our lives in a way pleasing to Him. May we be strengthened in every way to live in His righteousness and for His glory.

In Jesus’ matchless name be blessed. Amen.
