Anxiety weighs down

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down.

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.

Beloved brothers and sisters, greetings and warm wishes!

As the Bible says in Prov. 12:25, anxiety weighs down the hearts. The NKJV version of the verse says that it causes depression. Nodoubt, anxiety and depression are clinically two different disorders, but they go hand in hand in terms of symptoms. According to the World Health Organization, more than 300 million people around the world suffer from depression. And there are numerous ways to treat and heal them.

Before putting faith in Doctors, let us see what the Scripture says. Bible says not to be anxious of anything. But to let our requests with thanksgiving be made to God (Philippians 4:6). Yes, by prayer and supplication let our requests be known to Him. Put God first in everything. Truly He is our foremost source of help. Putting God first does not mean, to give up visiting Doctors or take medication. But honor and glorify God first and be led by Him in all things. As our Lord already asked us, cast all the burden upon Him for He cares (1 Peter 5:7).

Likewise when we put God first and seek Him in truth, His peace fills our hearts. Yes, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 NKJV). Amen.
