But You, Lord
But You Lord, whom I have at all the places and times.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
All the glory and praises be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !
The subject verse from the Psalm of Asaph (Psalm 73) glorifies and describes the Omnipresence of the Almighty God. As the author says, who is to us in the Heaven other than the Living God. The God who knows us more than anybody else, fills the Holy Kingdom. The Almighty knows us so intricately that we even do not know much about ourselves. The Creator, who formed us knows every individual to the minutest detail. As the following verse says, He skillfully created and placed us on the earth.
‘My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.’
Psalms 139:15-16
God loved us first
The Omnipotent God made us in His own likeness. And we love Him because He first loved us. The Almighty God’s righteousness shows His love for the mankind. And the true children of God shall love the Living God more than anybody or anything else in this world. Yes, when we wholeheartedly love the Creator more than anybody else, we shall in return love everybody like Him. The true love of God shall guide us to love selflessly all the people irrespective of their ethnicity, religion, caste or creed.
‘And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ‘
Matthew 22:37-39
As the author describes his love for God, there is none beside God whom he loves most on the earth. As the above verses from the Gospel according to Matthew says, let us first love the Lord our God to the highest. And love our neighbors like ourselves. All the glory be to our Lord Jesus Christ, who loved us so much that He died for us on the Calvary Cross to atone us from our own sins. Yes, the blood of Lord Jesus is shed for you and me. And this is God’s love.
In Jesus’ matchless and mighty name. Amen.
