Stand Still and Watch

Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.

‘But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. ‘

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name!

The subject verse from the Book of Exodus bring out a great hope and strength in the Almighty God. The people of Israel succumbed to their fears rather than depending upon the Omnipotent God. They rebelled, even after seeing the many wondrous works that God did in their midst. How He led them and took care of their needs in the wilderness. But when they saw the Egyptians pursuing them, they were up against Moses for bringing them out. However, Moses put his faith in the Omnipotent God to rescue them. And in that faith, he said the words of the subject verse — “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.”

God is faithful

Even though the people of Israel were not faithful, God was faithful to them. He did the mighty miracle through Moses, His faithful servant. He asked Moses to pick up his staff and raise his hand over the sea. And divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground. The Red Sea parted for the Israelites to cross, while it consumed the Egyptians who entered the waters.

Truly, God is faithful to His children. Those who depend upon Him shall be victorious in their lives. And it is apparent that God hears our prayers and stands by us in our troubles. Therefore, never fear at the sight of the trouble, but stay calm and trust the Lord our God. As Moses said, “just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you.”

In Jesus matchless and mighty name. Amen.
